Peterhead Athletics Club


PAC are delighted to be able to offer a range of junior sessions for those in Primary 4 right through to secondary aged youngsters.


Our sessions will improve fitness, balance, co-ordination, stamina and strength as well as being loads of fun.


The starting point for all juniors is our Fundamental Group which offers run, jump, throw activities in a fun, non competitive setting.



Progression is to our Foundation Group which continues to develop run, jump, throw skills and begins to introduce technical aspects of specific events.  Over the winter months we incorporate X-Country running into our schedule as we believe that this is the best form of winter training regardless of your preferred events.


Our weekly junior track sessions run throughout the year and compliment our run, jump, throw sessions.


Conditioning- these sessions run over the winter months only and develop core strength and fitness.


PAC also supports any junior who wishes to take part in competitions.  We currently enter a joint team with Ellon AAC into the Grampian Athletics League - a great starting point in track and field competitions.  Off the track we are strongly represented at local X-country events as well as local road races.


Winter training:


Fundamental Group- Tuesday -5.30pm-6.30pm - Community Centre with Nicola, Maria and Alison


Foundation Group- Tuesday 6.30pm-7.30pm- meet at Catto Park (may run elsewhere) with Teresa and Alison


Junior Track - Tuesday 6.30pm-7.30pm- Catto Park with Sandy


Conditioning- Thursday 6.30pm-7.30pm - Clerkhill School with Jim.  Costs £1.  This is run alongside the senior conditioning session but will be adapted for juniors. Suitable for all ages.


Progression to sessions are by mutual agreement between coach and athlete.
